SAILING OSCAR WILDE

Observing every rule of notoriety,

Seducing first his famous self, then all the rest,

Conditioning the shine of all he thought was best,

A man of letters to the letter got it right,

Resplendent in his giddy-up propriety.

Without a prototype of shipwrecked strategy,

I plod the decks of my unconsummated craft,

Linguistic nuance holding ropes that bind my raft,

Delusion like a deluge pounding through the night,

Eventually accepting anonymity.
