(320) January 9, 2011: We Go With God

Posted by D. Edgar Lamp on January 9, 2011 at 11:45 PM

WE GO WITH GOD

We go with God around the world

Just as we go each day,

No matter where the road may lead

   We're always on His Way,

   We're always on His Way.

He leads us through the light and dark

Through storm and flood and fear

And though at times our courage fails

   We feel Him ever near.

   We feel Him ever near.

This world belongs to Him alone

   And He our only Guide

He shows himself in all He's made

And fills our hearts with pride

And fills our hearts with pride.

For He is Lord, our Father God

   And His, the open road

He points the ways that we should go

   And lifts our heavy load

   And lifts our heavy load.

We go with God around the world

Just as we go each day,

No matter where the road may lead

   We're always on His Way,

   We're always on His Way.

Encinitas, California (Encinitas Cafe)

Hymn Lyrics [8.6.8.6.6]

JOURNAL:  Thanks to Cameron at the Encinitas Cafe, who invited me to sit down and have a cup of coffee and enjoy this WIFI connection for 20 minutes (or more) until they close for night, I'm able to post my blog.  E street cafe was already closed.  Thanks Cameron!  Thanks Encinitas Cafe.  And, I might add, the coffee is delicious.

Went to second service with Mom and Mimi.  I was late getting ready so Mom went ahead.  Gino lead the song service and Tim gave the sermon on the last few verses of Mark 10 about Blind Bartemeas.  An excellent story.  An excellent sermon.  Went up and talked to Gino after the sermon about our around the world trip and how we want this year to be one of learning about and loving mankind in broader better way.  About how we wanted our ordinary around the world trip be be an extraordinary trip around the world becuase we are Christians, followers of Jesus, walking and working everyday in every way in the misssion field of this world.  He gave us his enthusiastic blessing reminding us to be generous with the gifts we have received.  He said it'll probably take us a year to adjust to our new situation.  He suggested that God is leading us in a new and wonderful direction.

Packed out things after church and drove to San Diego for dinner with Halley & John and Anna & Harv at the Brigantine in La Mesa.  We shared a couple bottles of Pinot Noir over Halibut and Salmon and Prime Rib, and a whole lot of great conversation...and laughs.  John is crack-up!  Well seasoned and unflappable.  He's been going through some serious kidney issues over the past six months and handling it all in stride.

What a great day it has been.

Hi Liz, yes we would like to drop in and see you for at least one night. We plan to be in the UK in June. We'll be in touch. Mimi would also like to meet Rachel and see her work up close and personal.

Hi Don, I haven't popped in here for some time. Looks like you and Mimi are travelling. You're very welcome to drop in on me but I'm in a bit of a backwater. You won't have any trouble getting inspiration for poems now. Mine are plodding on. I finish in April. You, of course, have longer to go for your challenge. God bless you on your travels.
