ISLAND EXPRESS

We lift like love, and move like breath,

As souls ascend in happy death,

But we to life and an open door;

Our silent eyes in the rotor's roar.

A thousand dolphins make their way

In one great pod of leap and spray

Between the island and the shore;

Our silent eyes in the rotor's roar.

The giant ships seem motionless,

Their wakes the only evidence,

As comets in their stillness soar;

Our silent eyes in the rotor's roar.

So close in its proximity,

Our island of tranquility,

Invites us in as it's done before;

Our silent eyes in the rotor's roar.

Journal:  Advance Health Care Directives...done!  Last Will & Testaments...done!  Lamp Family Trust...done!  Took Island Express helicopter to Catalina Island.  Got to Old Turner Inn, our favorite B&B, just as Christa was leaving.  She got us set up, and then ran to catch the last boat to shore.  She remembered us even though it's been four years since we've been here.  We're the only ones here!  We've got the whole house to ourselves.  I plan to take advantage of the situation...(wink).
