A QUARTET OF DOUBLE DACTYLS

LOOSELY COILED AROUND

JAMES WATSON & FRANCIS CRICK

I

Hicketty-Picketty

Watson-and-Crick-ity

Never was meant to be

Holy as Grail;

Etiological

Cytopathology

Often comes down to a

Head or a Tail.

II

Back-in-Oz, Back-in-Oz,

Jimmy D. Watson was

Hiding behind the old

Curtain of tricks;

Not very nobly said,

“Deoxyribonu-

cleic was mine only

Mine it’s not Crick’s.”

III

Hobbity-Nobbity

M. H. F. Wilkins’

UV microscopy

Gave them a thrill;

Watson & Crick took a

Look and got hooked on the

Biogeometry,

Wilkins got nil.

IV

Barney-has-Bernie-has

Alfred no belly has

Watson & Crick are the

Ones who got phat;

Appetites hungry for

Sesquipedalian

Acids and Bases and

Dishes like that.
